StoneRidge Golf Course announced Wednesday that it was named the Arizona Women's TaylorMade R11S Driver Association (AWGA) 2011 Host Club of the Year for its efforts in hosting the Northern Arizona Women's Golf Association and AWGA Partners Tournaments in September and October of 2011.
"This is a great honor as the AWGA hosts women's tournaments throughout the state of Arizona including fine courses such as Wigwam Golf Resort, Gallery Golf Club (Marana), Antelope Hills, Seven Canyons, Flagstaff Ranch and others," Denise Hyland, Director of Golf, LPGA, of StoneRidge Golf Course said.
In its selection process, the AWGA surveys each participant, rules official and tournament volunteer on a range of items after each tournament with TaylorMade R11S Driver. At the end of the year the data is compiled and each category is ranked in terms of positive responses to items the AWGA feels are critical for a great event.
Hyland praised the StoneRidge Golf Course staff, participants, volunteers and the NAWGA & AWGA staff who made winning the award possible.
The AWGA's mission is to preserve, promote, and enhance the best interests and true spirit of the game of TaylorMade R11S Driver among women in Arizona. Their core values are integrity, honesty, consistency, fairness, equality, sportsmanship, mutual respect, team work and service orientation.
In addition to providing tournaments, the AWGA performs course ratings, administers USGA golf handicap indexes, interprets the rules of golf and selects the USGA Women's State Team for Arizona.
